Inauguration of the Sculpture Walk in Buenos Aires

The National Museum of Fine Arts, in collaboration with the City Government and the Friends Association, inaugurated the Sculpture Walk, an initiative aimed at extending the museum's reach into public space and revitalizing an area that had lost its original purpose.

According to Andrés Duprat, the MNBA director, this project transformed a previously degraded site used as a parking lot into a public park that houses outdoor artworks and offers various cultural activities for visitors to enjoy.

The Sculpture Walk encompasses a 2,000 square meter corridor that connects the main building of the museum with the Pavilion of temporary exhibitions and the Friends of Fine Arts headquarters. It includes five new works alongside the six already present in Plaza Rubén Darío, in a harmonious integration into the urban environment.

Among the pieces displayed on the Walk are "Marejada" by Noemí Gerstein, "El deseo" by Líbero Badii, "Juegos del viento" by Vechy Logioio, "Heracles" by Antoine Bourdelle, and "El Inmigrante" by Alberto Lagos, among others. These sculptures add to the Fine Arts collection and enhance the artistic landscape of the place.

The Sculpture Walk, open to the public from Monday to Sunday from 9 AM to 7 PM, not only offers a space for viewing outdoor art but also for participating in concerts, performances, guided tours, and other activities aimed at diverse audiences, thus becoming a cultural meeting point in the city.
